Weather - 85 F and mostly sunny & humid - had the A/C on in the car
Left Indianapolis at 6:10 (got free parking for 2 days..since they lost but eventually found our keys)
Arrived at St. Louis for breakfast at 10:30 - no good restaurants open so grabbed a stale Starbucks bagel & cream cheese and a Vente Black (forgot the cream & sugar) coffee to go. Got into Okla (as our GPS Sally calls it at 7:30 ET but gained an hour as Okla is in Central Time. Okla is a bit similar to indianapolis in that they both have great canals to walk along.
Just came back from a great mexican dinner at Abuelo in Bricktown. I had a rib eye steak and enchiladas and Marianne had Crepes stuffed with avacado. And of course a beer each - Don Equis...(sp) We were so stuffed we had to go for a walk along the lamp lit canal.
Marianne, the former hotel maven got us a great deal at the Marriotte Courtyard hotel for originally $137. down to $87. a night....because she is a gov't employee/teacher!
So, we decided to stay 2 nights in Okla and will leave for Albuquerque on Tuesday to stay 2 nights there, 2 nights in Vegas and 2 nights somewhere in California...maybe Santa Barbara. No pre-booking on this trip..we're doing it on the fly.
sounds like you two are having a blast!! we can't wait to see you drive up in your "funny blue dar"! K says he'll sit on Damma's lap... had to explain the importance of car seat safety! love you guys - be safe and keep having fun. you should be able to call my cell from the gmail phone. typing one-handed with little I on my left arm :) xoxo
